FOR PEDIATRIC PROVIDERS
Built for the people
who show up for children.
Responsive Therapy was designed for any pediatric therapist ready to deepen their practice, build the therapeutic relationship they were never taught, and work from a place of genuine connection.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Responsive Therapy is for all pediatric providers
Relationship-centered, neuroaffirming practice isn't the domain of any one profession — it's the foundation every pediatric therapist deserves. If you work with children, this is for you.
🤲
Occupational Therapists
Primary launch discipline. OTs bring a natural fit with RT's occupational lens, sensory integration roots, and whole-child perspective. RT deepens the relational dimension of what OTs already do.
🌱
Early Intervention Specialists
Early intervention is relational by nature. RT provides EI providers with a formal framework for the presence and responsiveness they instinctively practice.
🎭
Play Therapists
RT and play therapy share a deep belief in the child's inherent wisdom. RT opens the opportunity for play therapists to articulate and certify their relational approach.
🗣️
Speech-Language Pathologists
SLPs working with children understand that communication is relational. RT offers language therapists a framework for the therapeutic alliance that makes all communication flourish.
🏫
School-based Therapists
For therapists in school settings, RT offers a way of working that honors children across complex environments — without compliance-based approaches or behavioral framings.
👶
Developmental Specialists
Professionals working in developmental pediatrics, NICU follow-up, or early childhood settings will find RT's neuroaffirming framework a natural extension of their work.
🏃
Physical Therapists
PTs working with children know that a child's nervous system responds to safety and trust. RT trains PTs to be that source of regulation in the moments that matter most.
🧠
Mental Health Clinicians
Counselors, psychologists, and social workers working with children will find RT's relationship-first model reinforces and deepens their therapeutic grounding.
THE CERTIFICATION PATHWAY
A journey, not a checklist.
Responsive Therapy is a rigorous, reflective certification model designed to honor the depth of this work. Each level builds on the last, and earning your certification means earning the confidence to say: I practice differently.
PRE-EXPLORATIONS
A session before the session
Before Explorations begins, you submit a video recording of one of your own therapy sessions along with a structured self-observation. This isn't a test — it's an invitation to look at yourself honestly, with curiosity rather than judgment.

RESPONSIVE THERAPIST I
Explorations
An 8-hour immersive course — available as a live virtual session or self-paced online — that introduces the core principles of Responsive Therapy. Explorations answers the question: what does it mean to use myself as the intervention? There's no commitment beyond showing up with curiosity for these 8 hours.
8 contact hours (AOTA-approved continuing education)
Therapeutic use of self and the nervous system

Selective intervention and connection over perfection

RESPONSIVE THERAPIST II
Reflections
The certification level. Reflections is a rigorous, two-part course that invites deep examination of your practice through video review, written reflection, and assessment by a team of three experienced Responsive Therapists. Approximately 80% of participants achieve certification on their first submission — because the process itself is where most of the growth happens.

Fellowship

Completion of Reflections (RT-II) required
Nine-month structured formation commitment
Pairing with a Fellow Mentor throughout
Cohort-based learning community
Preparation to mentor Explorations and Reflections candidates
FELLOWSHIP
Fellow of Responsive Therapy
Fellowship is the highest designation in Responsive Therapy — awarded to those who have demonstrated exceptional depth of relational practice, a commitment to the growth of others, and the lived embodiment of everything RT stands for. Fellows serve as anchors of the community, providing mentorship and upholding the integrity of the model as it grows.
The Fellow Mentor and the Fellowship candidate, side by side.
Fellowship isn't traveled alone. Every RT-III candidate is paired with a Fellow Mentor — an experienced Fellow of Responsive Therapy who walks alongside them through the full nine months. This pairing isn't supervision. It's a relationship, modeled on the very principles being practiced.
The pairing mirrors what RT teaches: that growth happens within a trusted, consistent relationship — one built on presence, co-regulation, and genuine regard.
